Perspectives from a life well-lived and still unfolding.

Family Foundation

I was born in Ontario in 1958 and raised in a town nestled in the Ottawa Valley, just an hour’s drive from the nation’s capital. My father, a first-generation Canadian, married my mother, who was born and raised in Ireland. Together, they instilled in me a deep respect for hard work, education, and personal accountability.

From an early age, I was taught to judge people by their actions, to respect the laws of the country, and to take ownership of my decisions.

I was also taught to be agnostic toward a person’s cultural background, skin color, or religious affiliation. My parents emphasized the importance of managing personal finances responsibly, striving for honesty in all dealings, and speaking truth to power when necessary.

Political Perspective

By the time I turned 18, I had developed a strong sense of pride in being Canadian — someone who values fiscal prudence and social responsibility. Politically, I’ve tended to vote conservative at both the federal and provincial levels, though not exclusively. I’ve withheld my vote when I felt the conservative party of the day failed to uphold the principles of fiscal discipline and social responsibility. Above all, I do not support any political leader who lacks authenticity or displays arrogance toward others.

Professioal Journey

Before retiring to a quieter life in 2019, I spent 35 years in senior and executive leadership roles across both the private and public sectors. I had the privilege of working for three respected Canadian companies over 16 years, followed by 19 years of service to Ontario taxpayers as a public servant.

Perspectives From A Life Well Lived

The perspectives I share here are shaped by what I’ve observed over the past 67+ years — through experience, reflection, and a commitment to principled thinking.
